Volubilis Paris and Les Olivades Unveil an Exceptional Capsule Collection of Slippers, Blending Parisian Elegance with Iconic Provençal Patterns
A Unique Fusion of Expertise and Creativity
Volubilis Paris, a high-end Parisian slipper brand, and Les Olivades, a heritage company specializing in fabric printing in Provence, announce a groundbreaking collaboration.
The renowned Bonis pattern, inspired by an antique scarf and emblematic of Provençal art de vivre, now adorns two slipper models—one in denim, the other in velvet.
These indoor loafers for men and women, made in France, combine French craftsmanship and comfort with the elegance of Provençal prints.
A Union of Expertise
By joining their expertise, Les Olivades and Volubilis Paris have created a distinctive collection. The vibrant colors and iconic motifs of Provençal fabrics, printed using ancestral techniques, meet the sophistication and comfort of French slippers. This dialogue between tradition and modernity brings to life truly remarkable pieces.
A Tribute to Tradition and Elegance
“For me, Les Olivades evokes deeply personal memories,” shares Virginie Courtieu, founder of Volubilis Paris. “I used to visit the Alpilles with my family in summer, and we’d come back with these wonderful traditional Provençal fabrics in vibrant colors. I deeply admire the ancestral craftsmanship of these textiles, once printed with wooden blocks, washed, and sun-dried.”
For Jean-François Boudin, CEO of Les Olivades, “This collaboration is a wonderful opportunity to introduce our expertise to a new audience while renewing our offering with modern, elegant products.”
Availability
These exclusive models, available in sizes 37 to 46, are now available at the historic Les Olivades boutique in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, as well as on the Volubilis Paris website and in their Christmas pop-up store in Paris’s 7th arrondissement.
About Volubilis Paris
Founded in 2021, Volubilis Paris was born from the vision of its founder, Virginie Courtieu, to redefine the traditional slipper category by bringing a fashion-forward and design-centric approach. The brand modernizes French craftsmanship and celebrates the French art de vivre. All Volubilis slippers and indoor shoes are crafted in France in workshops with unique expertise.
They combine the comfort of a slipper with the timeless elegance of ballet flats, loafers, and slippers.
About Les Olivades
In 1818, Léon Quinche, a fabric printer from Geneva, partnered with two entrepreneurs from Tarascon to establish a factory in Saint-Étienne-du-Grès dedicated to producing "indiennes"—inspired by the painted fabrics brought to Marseille by the East India Company since the mid-16th century. These textiles were printed with wooden blocks, washed, and sun-dried, ensuring vibrant colors that endured over time.
Now managed by the Boudin family, Les Olivades continues to preserve this craftsmanship. Today, their fabrics are created using screen-printing techniques with meticulous attention to detail and quality. Certified as a Living Heritage Company (EPV), Les Olivades is the only company in Provence that upholds the fabric printing tradition that began in Marseille in 1648.
